Ms. Debra Chanda possesses nearly two decades of North American start-up, SME, multinational and private equity experience in leadership roles spanning operations, marketing and sales. For over six years she managed a $12M P&L as a Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and drove an average year-over-year (yoy) growth rate of 56% and expanded market share from an initial 6 units to over 100.

She has managed teams of 15 direct and indirect (sales agents) headcount for a equipment distribution business. Hired at a multi-national subsidiary to spearhead a market share turnaround of ~ 25 points over a 5 year period. Achieved a 10 point increase over 20 + months; meeting or exceeding the annual goal each and every year which contributed in receiving a training award at Medtronic. Instrumental in multiple contracts, $9M over 3 years in forecastable revenue with hospitals and GPO’s.

Ms. Chanda raised $1M ($250k debt, $750k equity) for a business, whereby she set up operations, resulting in cash flow positive within 3 months.

She is adept at commercializing technologies into markets by securing early adopters (led first Customer acquisition in start-ups focused in selling technology to the agriculture, manufacturing and healthcare sectors). She is former Director of Marketing for a private equity firm, Fountainhead Ventures (Managing Director early board of advisors WebMD and worked with founders of Home Depot); led SBIR Phase 2 (NIH) commercialization plan with a MD, PhD, PEngs at Advance Technology Development Center, Georgia Institute of Technology; and one of the first interactive/digital marketers in mid ‘90s when the Internet was becoming commercialized: led a content licensing deal with CNN Interactive.

Debra is degree candidate pursuing a part-time Masters of Liberal Arts, with a concentration in Finance at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the Western University in London, Ontario and a Post-Degree-Diploma in Business from George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario. Debra is a former Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Georgia Institute of Technology, and former Communications Manager at the Standing Committee of Agriculture and Agri-food at House of Commons of Canada. Debra grew up on a farm in southwestern Ontario.
